Pension system of the Republic of Moldova: actuary expertise

3.3.6. Pensions paid from the state budget

Except social insurance pensions a range of pensions and benefits in the Republic of Moldova are paid from the state budget: pensions to military men and members of their families; to the participants of Chernobyl accident; monthly state benefits to disabled persons and war veterans; benefits to pension beneficiaries from Transnistria; individual benefits for special merits to the state; nominative compensations and material assistance to some categories of persons, including victims of Chernobyl accident. All these pensions, benefits and compensations are paid from the Pension Fund, while the related expenditures are covered by the National Social Insurance House from the state budget.

The pension system of the Republic of Moldova does not envisage the possibility of receiving simultaneously different kinds of pensions. The persons who have the right to different pensions should choose only one
